Heart Made Home Shop Opening

Heart Made Home is a lovely new shop specialising in rustic homeware, up-cycled and repurposed furniture, haberdashery, fabric and wool. We supported its highly successful opening with press, social media, B2C and B2B launch events and were delighted to introduce its owner to the local businesses and community leaders.

The Coquet Valley is bursting with a new generation of small businesses. One of the valley’s success stories, Stephanie Robson owner of Heart Made Home, wanted to demonstrate her confidence in the valley by opening a new high street shop in Rothbury.  The shop, which sells Stephanie's hand painted furniture alongside carefully chosen, British designed, home wares, also stocks fabric, wool and haberdashery items and will be hosting sewing, stitching and crafting classes in the workroom above the shop.

Stephanie had been running Heart Made Home for the last 2 years from her home in Thropton when she spoke to us about her plans to open a high street store. She already had a following from the work she had done at fairs and markets throughout the county and by taking commissions for her beautifully painted up-cycled and reconditioned furniture. Now she needed to convert that traffic to shop visitors.

We worked with Stephanie to run a social media launch including an on-line competition for visitors prepared to share her facebook page and secured good press coverage in local newspapers. A prize draw over the first month for people prepared to sign up to her newsletter has give her an enviable list, several hundred strong, of interested customers receiving her messages every month.

In addition to this B2C work we organised a launch party inviting key local businesses and community leaders to come and meet Stephanie and hear her story. The party was such a success that Stephanie met her opening week targets on the party night (she went on the meet her first month's target in her opening weekend). The networking Stephanie was able to do that evening has given her a list of people wanting to use her premises for craft workshops plus a strong local referring network of design led businesses and local estate agents. Following the launch Stephanie's B2B contact book is much stronger and has already produced referrals and commissions for her.
